Plumbing Services in Kensington

As our neighborhood changes, the kind of work we do here also changes. Years ago we mostly did repair work on the plumbing of the older houses in the area. However, as Kensington has gone a little up-scale, the work we do has changed. With all the new construction, we have been installing plumbing systems more than before. As older homes changed hands we have been increasingly called upon to update their plumbing and heating systems as they were being renovated.
This is a young and ethnically-diverse neighborhood where only about one-third of the population speaks English at home, while another third speaks Chinese. It used to be a working-class area, but with the recent rise in housing prices it has become popular with young professionals who are attracted by its vibrancy and closeness to downtown.

Just a few blocks west of our location, Kensington Gardens is taking shape. A large development that features three high-rise towers, town homes and condos, the Gardens will also have lots of shopping as well as amenities typical of a 5-star resort.

Local Parks

Kensington Cedar Cottage is one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in east Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The neighborhood, which is 7.23 square kilometers in area, is bordered by Fraser St. on the west, Nanaimo St. on the east, 41st Avenue on the south and 16th Avenue and Broadway on the north.

John Hendry Park , named after the lumber industrialist John Hendry who owned the land, is located in the north-east of Kensington–Cedar Cottage. In the center of the park is Trout lake, once the water source for the Hastings Sawmill. The park also houses an ice rink, that was built for the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, and Trout Lake Community Centre.

Like most of East Vancouver, Kensington Cedar Cottage used to be predominantly working class but rising house prices have made the area increasingly popular with young professionals and families who can no longer afford houses in areas such as the west side.
